Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions

1. Arrival & Departure

  • Arrive no more than 5 minutes before your session.
  • Wait outside until a staff member invites you in.
  • Sessions last 45 minutes and end on time, ensuring smooth transitions.

2. Session Gaps

  • We have a 15-minute gap between sessions to ensure calm transitions for reactive or sensitive dogs. Please respect this.
  • These gaps also allow us to prepare for the next dog/s.

3. Respecting Others

The space is shared by dogs with varying needs. Please respect other clients’ privacy and space.

4. Toileting & Clean-Up

  • Dogs must be toileted before arrival. There is a grass area outside the unit you can use before entering. Please ensure you pick up any mess and take it home.
  • If accidents occur, please use provided markers to highlight the area for staff cleaning.
  • There is a cleaning station in the room, however could you please make staff aware by using the markers.

5. Use of Space

  • The enrichment room is for calm exploration by your dog. It’s not a playground for children, so please do not allow children to run around the enrichment room.​

6. Payment & Booking

  • All bookings are made online and paid in advance.
  • You may book the standard 45-minute sensory session or add the food option (+£2 per dog).
  • There will a limit 3 dogs per session, but must be from the same household.
  • If you dog/s struggle sharing, we would advise only one dog per booking.

7. Food Add-On

  • If you choose the food option, we will hide the food before your arrival. Inform us of any allergies.

8. Bringing Your Own Food

  • You may bring your own treats, but ensure all food is cleared before you leave. No leftovers should remain for the next dog.

9. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations or reschedules must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice. Less than 24 hours may forfeit your fee.

10. Liability

  • You remain responsible for your dog’s behaviour and any damages.

11. Health Requirements

  • All dogs must be healthy and free from contagious conditions.

12. Data Privacy

  • Your personal data will only be used for booking and will be kept secure.

13. Facilities

  • Please inform us prior to your session if you require wheelchair access.

  • There is a toilet on site, however this is not wheelchair accessable.

  • Tea & Coffee making facilities are available in the sensory room. Please keep this area clean and tidy.

14. Aversive Training Equipment

  • Sensory Dogs is committed to providing a safe, positive and low-stress environment for every dog that uses our facilities. Our approach is based on force-free, reward-based and welfare-focused principles.

  • For this reason, aversive training equipment is not permitted to be used or worn by dogs while on the Sensory Dogs premises.

  • This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Electronic/shock collars (including remote training collars).

    • Prong/pinch collars

    • Choke/check chains

    • Slip leads being used to tighten around the dog's neck as a training correction.

    • Any other equipment designed to cause pain, discomfort, fear or intimidation in order to influence a dog's behaviour.

  • If your dog normally wears any of the above equipment, we ask that it is removed before entering the Sensory Dogs facility and replaced with a suitable flat collar and/or well-fitted harness where appropriate.

  • Sensory Dogs has been specifically created as a space where dogs can feel safe, explore freely and make choices without pressure. 

  • The use of equipment that relies on discomfort, pain or fear is therefore incompatible with the welfare standards and ethos of our facility.

  • Sensory Dogs reserves the right to refuse or terminate a session if aversive equipment is being used and the owner is unwilling to remove it. 

  • No refund will be provided where a session cannot proceed as a result of this policy.

  • By booking a session at Sensory Dogs, you agree to abide by this policy.
